About me
I began as a copywriter in 2015, working as an intern at Havas Worldwide in Dublin. Just a few weeks into my internship, I was already pitching to clients and managing creative campaigns for clients including Jack Daniel’s, 7Up, Jacob’s Biscuits, Hyundai, Microsoft, and Heineken.
After a year, I struck out as a freelancer working on a variety of projects – from creative advertising to long-form content writing – for brands and agencies. Some of my clients included Deloitte, Sherry FitzGerald, Wide Eye Media (now Pearl & Dean), Thinkhouse, Emirates and Dublin City University, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
In 2021 I was offered a role as a copywriter at Facebook. Here, I primarily wrote case studies on how SMEs used Facebook products to build their businesses.
When my contract at Facebook came to an end, I was approached for a role at Web Summit, where I worked until the end of 2024. At Web Summit I had the opportunity to travel around the world, writing everything from long-form pieces – blogs, magazines, and insight reports – to creative tasks like out-of-home advertising, print ads, and promotional videos.
As well as my work as a copywriter, I have pursued some of my other passions. In 2020, I decided to try something different and undertook the 12-week course at Ballymaloe Cookery School. In addition to learning how to cook, I got an education in organic farming, fermentation, cheesemaking, and wine. I completed the course with a High Commendation.
I also founded a small film production company on leaving university. Constant Motion Pictures, which I left in 2020, has produced both short and feature length films. Among other shorts, I produced shorts Nostalgia.exe which premiered at the Cannes Short Film Corner, and El Freak, directed by award-winning director James Fitzgerald. I also produced feature length Demon Hunter – one of Ireland’s first genre pictures to receive a domestic cinema release.
I have a BA in History from Trinity College Dublin, where I was also station manager of Trinity FM; opinion editor of the University Times; a columnist for Trinity News, The Bull and Miscellany Magazine; and treasurer of DU Publications, sitting on the Capitations Committee.
I am confident that my variety of experiences – from college and cookery school to copywriting and film – will help to enrich any potential copy project I undertake.
